Our Head Golf Professional, Mike Pearson, has been in the golf business since he was a teenager. After graduating from California State University at Chico, Mike played on the Mini-Tour for a couple of years before deciding to settle back into the golf business. In 1993, he became a Class A-1 PGA Professional. For the next 11 years, Mike served on the Board of Directors for the Metro Chapter PGA (Los Angeles and Orange County) and the Inland Empire Chapter. In 2000, he was selected as the Southern California PGA Tournament Director for which he served for 1 year. He received the 2003 Horton Smith Award for education and member services for the Inland Empire Chapter. Mike became our Head Professional December 1, 2003. Mike is a certified club fitter for Ping and has over 20 years of teaching experience

Personally, Mike is married to his lovely wife, Connie, who is also the buyer for the Avondale Golf Shop. They have an 8-year-old daughter Kelly.

Pro Shop Announcements

As we begin play on our beautiful course, the assistance from our members will immensely help in the maturity process of our young grass.

• Please be observant of where you are driving and avoid following tracks of other golf carts.
• Please enter the fairway between the two blue topped stakes and then exit between the stakes at the end of the fairway. This process assists in tremendously reducing wear areas around tees and greens.
• Please avoid wet areas.
• Do not drive or park closer than 50 feet from a green.
• Fill your own divot and any other divot near you.
• Do not overfill divots. Smooth the mix level with the playing surface.
• Please repair your ball mark or any ball mark you can find.
• Rakes will be placed in the bunkers, towards the middle with the handle of the rake pointing towards the 150 marker in the center of the fairway.

I am very excited about the new Ping products this year. Ping G10 is a game improvement club and is one of the most forgiving clubs I have ever hit. The new I10 iron is the most forgiving "players" clubs with a blade look and perimeter weighting. The fairway woods have a clean look and are easy to get air born and comes in a 4 wood. We will have a Ping Demo Day the first week in December. Ping will have the Tour Van here with all the computer technology to fit you into the perfect club for your game. Appointments for fitting can be made in the golf shop.

Check out Ecco Golf Shoes. This is the first year that I have carried Ecco. They are very comfortable shoes made from Cole Hahn leather uppers. Don't be fooled by the unusual sizing as they are European sizing. The shoe is meant to fit in the arch and not across the ball of the feet like most other shoes.

Finally, the back section of the golf shop, by the handicap computer, will be our sales area this year. Close-out merchandise will be displayed in this section. Look for the savings
